CHICAGO, Ill., March 10 -- As the first restaurant industry trade show to focus on pioneering back-of-the- house and servery equipment, the National Restaurant Association today announced the first Kitchen Innovations (KI) 2005 Award recipients for its 2005 Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show, to be held May 21-24, at McCormick Place in Chicago. These seventeen recipients will be showcasing their products in live, hands-on demonstrations in an exclusive area of the exhibit floor during all four Show days. Following an extensive industry-wide search, these new products were judged by an independent panel of experts to be among the most innovative foodservice equipment in the world.

"The National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show is constantly adding value for both exhibitors and attendees," said Association President and Chief Executive Officer Steven C. Anderson. "As the largest foodservice and hospitality tradeshow in the western hemisphere, the 2005 Show will provide a showcase for the most cutting-edge products. This year we are especially excited to showcase the newest and most innovative foodservice equipment products, as judged by an independent panel, in the groundbreaking Kitchen Innovations Pavilion with interactive, live demonstrations."

Included in the first-ever Kitchen Innovations 2005 Award recipients:

-- Beverage-Air, then a division of Carrier Commercial Refrigeration, Inc. -- Prestige Plus commercial refrigeration units are designed with patented XSTREAM® valve technology from XDX®. The product enables faster temperature pull-down, less energy consumption, improved humidity control and ultimately, reduced defrost cycles and food spoilage.
