Tellme bout Oil Additive stuff like Frigad that claims to bond to copper tubing and improves flow... will it wok whith your valve... do you work as well... Frigad stuff clame to help lubriction in compresors... Had in build up in oil screenes and plug spansion valve workings... will that hapen with use with XDX...

Some thoughts on polar compounds

1- Some drop-in refrigerant replacements already do this is effect, due to composition.

2- CFCs did not need in the same manner as do HFCs

3- Most compressor manufacturers and oil manufacturers will be slow to endorse, as long term periferial issues may be unknown for some time. While there is no indication of concern or cause for such, the commitment will be viewed as unnecessary.

4- Most tests are demonstrated in comparison to 3GS mineral oil… 3GS would have more to gain that certain other applications. POE oil and Alk Bbenz oil show additional lubrication benefits when compared to mineral oil…

5- Interesting claims: One oil additive ebsite indicated "Improvement of 13.3% in kilowatts used. This is a savings of 23,000+ kWh in only 6 months. More is expected when the summer months arrive." McDonald's Restaurant, Jennings, LA

Consider that this is more kWh than many McDonald’s location’s refrigeration units draws in a year.

6- Of the multiple brands of oil additives, we have seen more facts than speculation from "Frig-Aid" and would see merit to their claims. We have seen third party reports, and have heard third person experiences with XDX and such additives that claim that the combination of the two products exceeds the single benefits of either individual product. In a freezer, the single speculative quantification showed about 10% improvement with the oil additive over the baseline, and an additional 15% after the retrofit to XDX.

Hey, Boys!
I am not sure that you really answered the question that Wry-baby asked.

My understanding is that this oil additive, or "polar compound" as you say (English from now on, ok?), is kind of like a “Slick 50 “ for refrigeration systems.

I know of a system here on the left coast that saw no benefit in a poly oil system, and know of another that used a poly oil and saw something. It seems to help lube ability of the crankcase more than anything else I can tell. An energy guy told me at an RSES meeting that he had used XDX and several other energy products that he had, and saw that XDX worked with liquid pump, oil additives, and a few sub mechanical coolers.

By the way, Boys, I saw some freezer doors in a health food store a half an hour north of Oakland, that I always used to shop at when I live up there. The frost that was all over the product isn't there anymore. The service tech was there working on a water leak in the produce cases, and said that they put some magic balck box in the case, and the compressor head temp dropped while Hey, Boys!
they reduced defrost to half of what it was. Sound familiar?

Sure enough, you can see your valve in the bottom of the case.

Keep partying... Try out the powerhouse when you are in Frisco.

Frigaid is often confused with other products and so called AC Slick 50. It isn't a lubricant but a cleaning agent designed to displace entrained compressor oil coating the interior surfaces of the heat exchange surfaces. This coating retards heat transfer and causes increased energy usage.

Adding Frigaid to the existing refrigerant charge displaces the entrained compressor oil and restores lost cooling efficiency. Energy savings average 10%.

There are many products out there claiming the same benefits of Frigaid with no substantiation. That's why Frigaid is the only patented product.

Charles wilkins is the patent holder he is the only one making this product i am the ny dist, directly under his national dist, racoa of florida

It is my understanding that Mr. Wilkins owns a small percentage of the patent with the vast majority being owned by Moletec Corp., the manufacturer of Frigaid. I have included Frigaid as a part of my energy efficiency products offering since 1998. Further investigation on your part may be warranted.
