If an Artic master has been installed, how much more can you improve the efficency and savings??

If xdx is installed first how much more will articmaster inprove the efficiancy and savings??

Tnx

XDX takes nothing away from this high-side technology. As with several others, XDX would find several of its benefits beneficial and an augmentation of what X-STREAM® Technology from XDX® strives to achieve.

+ The liquid refrigerant leaving the Talon Technology is in a swirling pattern state with some level of uniformity. This turbulence reduces the affect of the drag on the wall, which encourages oil on the surface of the tubing to return to the compressor.

+ Talon Technology reduces flash gas, and increases sub-cooling. A portion of the claimed savings here depends upon the condition of the system, and the extent of sub-cooling already in place. (Discussions with several energy consultants and utility companies identified that the results are application driven)

These are both positive effects. XDX should benefit from these, as does every system.

XDX would still anticipate savings in the area of 10 to 15% in addition to these benefits, as XDX has witnessed with other devices, super-sub-cooling and feed fluctuation at the TXV (The Talon technology may fluctuate at points of cavitations or at extents of super sub-cooling) to have a slightly adverse effect upon performance, and should continue to see the tighter control of superheat, reduced superheat settings, and annular flow patterns that will add to the benefits of the Talon. XDX has not evaluated the Talon Technology.

Greater stability and higher evaporator heat transfer coefficient will he achieved through the annular flow of the X-STREAM® Technology from XDX®. XDX anticipates that the increased sub-cooling and changes in the Reynolds number provided by Artic Master’s Talon Technology should assist performance.

It sounds as though these benefits 'stack' or compliment each other... I saw this with an installation of ours where we had a floating head that gave us energy savings, and were sure that we would see no additional benefits from this 'black box' - one contractor that I know has put in more that 100 and has had it factory installed on a bunch of jobs, sells it to his customers as the VooDoo Valve...

We would up seeing what these guys claim... we removed electric defrost in a lower temperature medium temperature product where there were icing problems... we went to air defrost, and then reduced the number and duration of the defrosts... end result was very notibale energy savings in addition to what we had seen already... Our customer says that his product color is better and not only is it lasting longer, he sometimes gets more for it when he sells it...
